What is ART?
ART is a specific, non-invasive soft tissue treatment that is designed to treat musculoskeletal disorders. ART was designed to address muscles, ligaments, nerves and tendons. The technique focuses on breaking up adhesions which can be caused by overuse, injuries, trauma or poor posture. Addressing the underlying problem will help to increase blood flow and range of motion and also reduce pain and dysfunction.
Here are some examples of conditions that we have treated using Active Release Techniques:
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Tennis and golfer’s elbow
- Headaches
- Strain and sprain injuries
- Plantar fasciitis
WHAT DOES A TREATMENT LOOK LIKE?
At every treatment, the chiropractors use their hands to evaluate texture, tightness, and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, nerves and ligaments. Specific tension is applied to the abnormal tissue with specific active patient movements.
OUR APPROACH:
At Custom Chiropractor, we have treated many different types of conditions using ART and other myofascial release techniques. Our chiropractors use a hands-on approach with treatment which is a combination of soft tissue work, using modalities such as cupping or IASTM, manual adjustments and an at home exercise program.
