“Pain it’s the last symptom to show up and the first symptom to go away”
Typically patients come in thinking that their pain is the thing that has been interfering with their life, but really pain can be indicative of so much more.
Back pain:
Did you know that your lower back pain could possibly be caused but issues with your kidneys?? A kidney infection could cause enough swelling to impact your lower thoracic nerves, making you think that your back is the issue.
Abdominal Pain:
Similarly, abdominal pain could be a marker of several organ dysfunctions.
Calf Pain:
Though usually calf pain is associated with sore muscles, it could also de due to Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT): a clot blocking blood flow and leading to swelling around the lower extremities. This condition is dangerous because if the clot breaks loose it could block a major artery inhibiting blood flow to major organs- including the brain.
Tingling fingers and toes:
This tingling/ numb sensation is also known as peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy can be due to many things, including diabetes, alcohol abuse, vitamin B-12 deficiency and shingles.
Headache:
Headaches can be caused by many things, from sinus issues, to vision problems, to a misaligned spine. However, it may also be an indication of a transient ischemic attack (TIA), where a clogged artery blocks blood flow to the brain.
